Case Studies

Causight contributed to sales improvement in marketing at a Sony sales company.

Issue
In email marketing, it was difficult to think of customer segments that lead to sales.
Approach
We analyzed purchasing data using Causight and discovered factors of loyal customers.
Result
Sales increased when coupons were distributed to customer segments based on the information found by Causight.

Among various information such as attributes and purchase history, information related to email registration was found to be important.

“A Causight analysis of the customer's past purchase data revealed several variables that contributed to loyal customers. Among them, the information related to email registration was identified as a key factor, which surprised me because no one had ever been aware of it from a marketing point of view.”

In order to verify the insights obtained, we conducted an A/B test in which coupons for certain products were distributed to each customer of registration information A and registration information B. The results showed that A was twice as high as B in both the click rate and sales, demonstrating that the information identified by Causight was effective for our business activities.

Case Studies

Causight contributed to the improvement of defect rate at the manufacturing site of Tsukada Riken Industry Co., Ltd.

Issue
It was recognized as an important manufacturing problem to reduce the occurrence rate of certain defect modes in plating manufacturing and to increase the yield.
Approach
By analyzing manufacturing history data ucing Causight, we were able to finf several causes of defect occurence.
Result
By examining the surroundings of the estimated factors, we noticed several new issues, and by solving them, we were able to achieve improvement of defect rate.

From the various data of the manufacturing process, we found that unexpected variables were important, and we succeeded in suppressing the occurrence of defects.

“Reducing the occurrence of small but critical defects in the plating process has been an important management issue, and by analyzing historical data with different variables in the manufacturing process using Causight, we were surprised to find that the use of different equipment was a key factor that we had not previously considered.”

Further examination of the differences in equipment used suggested by the analysis results revealed several new issues, and by investigating them in detail and considering solutions, we succeeded in reducing the occurrence of defects, which was an issue. Among the many factors related to the defects, the factors identified by Causight provided new awareness and led to major improvements.
